Eventing Tragedy
26/04/09 Irish rider 47 year old Ian Olding from Co. Antrim, died following a fall at Belton Park today. Ian was riding his 12 year old horse “Gran-Kiki” in the Advanced class when they fell at Fence 13.
The accident occurred while Mr. Olding was competing in a British national class at the one-day event at Belton Park in Lincolnshire. Mr Olding had been based in Sandbach, Cheshire since 1999.

Tattersalls awarded World Cup Status for May Event
Tattersalls Ireland International Horse Trials has been awarded World Cup status for the second year running. It is one of only 10 events in the world to be nominated by the FEI to host a qualifier for the HSBC FEI World Cup Eventing Qualifier. Tattersalls will take place from the 28th May until 28th May. Eventing - Ryans claim 1st and 2nd at Ballindenisk two-star
18/04/09 Michael and Patricia Ryan tied up the two-star event at Ballindenisk, Co. Cork . Michael Ryan partnered the 8 year old grey “Annestown Emperor” finished on his dressage score to win the class. His wife Patricia picked up just 0.4 penalties to finish second on “Ballylynch Skyport” Full results from Ballindenisk

30/03/09 HORSE Sport Ireland is pleased to announce for a limited period, a reduction in passport registration fees for the period commencing 1st April until 31st May 2009. White (non-pedigree) passports will be available during this period for the reduced fee of €25. In addition, during the same period, HSI will offer the endorsement of passports for Thoroughbred mares (Weatherbys passports) at a reduced fee of €25. Owners of yearlings (2008 progeny) will be entitled to avail of a volume discount in registration fees.
