A pony at the ridding school has one of them and its not too bulky... I think the blue bits stick out about 5mm when not under saddle I'm not really sure though I'll cheak next time im down:) (if you havent already go one lol)

I don't like those ones with the blue circles. One of the livery owners had one for her horse and he had pressure sores after a few weeks of use. No definite evidence that the pad caused the pressure sores but I wouldn't be keen.
