Wow, that vid is great, would love to see more. You'd ridden him in just a halter before, hadn't you? Does it take them long to get used to it? That bending exercise is really impressive to watch, and he's concentraing so hard!
Lovely relaxed looking pics too

Storm - shhhh on hat :blushing:
TC i did ride him in a halter in the past but i dont think i was really doing it properly.
Mightn't look like much but this is a horse who sticks his head up like a giraffe and goes 'go go go'. (thats why the girl is singing "I like to move it - move it - I like to move it - move it"! haha). He IS concentrating so hard, bless!
First session i felt lost without reins, and could only get him to turn on a right angles, I handn't the subtlety to do it with my legs in decrees. The halter is great for exercises with the horse. Lots of backups encouraged him to wait for signals, rather than moving on all the time.
Riding a smaller circle with not holding the lead rope was great to try too.

Turning using the rope on neck only (no rein contact)

he looks nice but i look like a knob!
I love his ears flicking back and forth, he has his moments of goodness :)
Bobbi - i am so proud of his weight... never seen him looking so good :) Isn't plain old grass just amazing. He'd have never got that weight on with just hard feed bluechip and hay - i tried all last winter.
