Anyone own or ride in one of these? Just curious - they dont seem to be that expensive and look quite nice :)

I'm not a fan of them sorry, but then again I hate most synthetics.

I've ridden in them and have found them comfy enough

My last saddle was a Hi-Lite...I had it for a good few years and found it okay.
I have a leather saddle now and although there is a huge difference I still wouldn't write off the synthetics...my synthetic did the job just fine

If money is a bit tight perhaps you could consider a second-hand leather?
Both my saddles are s/h and were a great bargain

i got a thorrowgood saddle for my first horse as i needed so much i couldnt afford a leather one . this was nearly 12 yrs ago. and i still have it and it is in great nik .
i do have a leather saddle know and do like it a little better than the syntetic but when i do need to use the syntetic it is a little bit like .. its good to sit in my old saddle type of a thing.

Me an OH both have the T4 high wither, I find it comfy enough and really easy to maintain. We've had them for a year now and they still look as good as new.

Ditto on the synthetics, sorry.

Comfy, workmanlike, easy to take care of - I'd ten times rather have a well fitting, lightweight synthetic than a more expensive leather that "has" to fit - whether it does or not! Saying that, there are some nice, reasonably priced modern saddles from around £600. or you could try the Saddle Company, seat & flaps leather, underneath synthetic, and can be adjusted (by the manufacturer) to fit any horse.

I used to sell Thorowgoods and can honestly say I never had any complaints.
Cheap comfortable and does exactly what it says on the tin. ;)

i rode in a thorowgood a few years back and found it like sitting on a rock, didn't like it at all. found the wintec really comfy, you can borrow mine if you want to try it out?

Thanks a mil guys - to be honest, I was just curious as I came across them on the web and the are really quite cheap so wondered what they are like! I have a leather Berneys Bros saddle that I love & fits himself so wont be getting rid of that anytime soon!

Maybe as a second saddle/dressage saddle I would consider a synthetic but that would be alot further down the road!

Thanks a mil for the offer Bobbi C - your too good, maybe one day I might take you up on that ;)

had a wintec for a few years as Sid was still growing & found it really handy to keep, no problem to ride in, easily adjusted etc. ...and really wanted to get a sythnetic dressage when was buying my dressage saddle but could not get one to fit
