I think they're well worth the money and I'd highly recommend them :) I have one in pink, but you can also buy them in lilac, lime and blue.

The brushes, combs and hoof picks are comfortable to hold so you could groom for hours without your hands tiring! You get a mane and tail brush, stiff brush, fine curry, medium face brush, mane and tail comb and a hoof pick in the kit. You can also buy other brushes such as coarse curry combs seperately, although those are only available in blue. If you're buying online then shop around - I've found price differences of up to €40...! If you don't want to splurge out on a set, then at least "invest" in the mane and tail brush, which is fantastic! :)

They really are worth it though Karen

They're €70 in TRI, although I've seen them on Ebay for under €60 including postage.

It just seems alot for grooming brushes in the grand scheme of things. Will they make my horse any cleaner or any shinier than regular brushes?

thats the bentley ones, actually found them better than oster, as my oster mane and tail brush broke(they fell out) but the bentley has lasted me ages.

found a few pieces of the oster set cheap enough in a co-op so next time im down home ill check again how much they were. bentley is actually the original and oster copied, but the compounds they use in the handles make them slightly nicer and more expensive but a bentley fan here

i have the oster curry comb. I have the bentley slip not round tail brush (highly recommended!) and the slip not body and face brush.
I find the betntley are almost as good and very affordable. The oster curry comb is better though

this co-op is very cheap, get my feed much cheaper there in comparison to kildare area, he has random horse items but no one down there would buy anything and if they did they'd go to the likes of holmestead. wouldnt expect to find them at that price around dublin/kildare

The bentley mane and tail brush is fantastic does not break the hairs at all and cost me very little!
I bought a bentley pink grooming bag last week it rocks I have the purple tail brush and the pink face and body and the oster curry. Have no brand grippy hoof pick as well.

AB is right G you got a bargain my oster curry was 12.50 in tri ast week!

oh I have them too Karen! ( I have a disturbing amount of grooming stuff!), have a fab flicker pink brush with a wooden base its amazing for cleaning dust off the coats and have two fab leather strapped goat hair brushes they are brilliant for bringing up a shine on a clean horse - they were expensive but worth it! I also have a suede strapping pad and a mit where one side is thatched stuff and one side sheepskin its brilliant for last minute shining too.

very you Karen :) we will match with our pink grooming stuff at the festival! when I was buying the bag last week they offered me a packaged one instead of the display one but I had to explain that I wanted a pink one not a black one.
I love bright colours for my stuff at the yard less chance of me losing them or them getting 'borrowed' by people!. I have way too much grooming stuff though my horse box is full of it I use it as storage!

I have a couple of John Whitaker brushes and find them really contoured to fit the hand - very comfy to use.

ive loved the feel of john wit brushes but never been able to afford them.

have four soft goathair brushes

also have the mitt with weaving on one side and fur on the other and a cloth of just the weaving, but HS got me one thats fully fur which i cant wait to use for the festival

my ultimate handy grooming tool is my good red rubber curry comb

I was never one for fancy grooming brushes, had the same grooming kit for 12 years but got the oster set for xmas and have to say its been amazing, brings up a huge shine on her coat and she loves the curry comb. Now maybe its just that the bristles are new and not worn down like my old ones Im not sure, but it gets my thumbs up!

I have the mane and tail brush and think it is fantastic!! Mine is purplem of course :)

Seriously though, its so worth the extra few euro. Kainers mane is quite thick but this just glides through it!

I bought the 7 piece set in our local Agri Co-op. I think they got it in by mistake as it was the only one they had and they hadn't a clue what to charge for it - so I got a bargain!! :D

I like the hoofpick and the big round mane and tail brush. Not so keen on the dandy brush though..

The company (Smart Grooming) who distributes my stencils for retail sale have sold a lot of these Oster kits. They are very well made. HERE (http://www.clippersharp.com/oster_brushes/oster_brushes)

They have also just started marketing a new range of wooden handled - natural fibre brushes from a Swedish company called Borstiq. They really are top quality and very tactile (I've got a few of them) HERE (http://www.clippersharp.com/borstiq_brushes/borstiq_brushes)

I'm fairly certain that they have a few businesses in Eire who carry their stuff, but if not can be got direct mail order from them.
