I have been trying on white jodhpurs lately and I cant seem to find a pair that dont look completely see-thru!!! They show every lump and bump on my legs (and there are alot of them :() Is this just me?? I cant afford expensive pairs but can afford about €50 or so - I have my lovely Turfmaster beige ones but they are looking a bit big and baggy on me -pics of my showjumping is NOT flattering.

I got a lovely pair of Dublin Supafit Cotton Jods that are black and I love the fit - they do come in beige and white but as I'm buying them off the internet I'm not sure if I will face the same problem of them being see-thru! Also they are only £20! Bargain!

Any tips guys or are white jods just not flattering on anyone!!

Now I always wear beige breeches when I'm hunting or competing - I used to occasionally wear white breeches but they aren't flattering at all.

Champagne or cream ones are much better than white, but that could be just me.

i got a pair of white ones in holmestead they where cheap enough and not really see treu but after one wash they got a bleu glow over them so i think i might colour them orso as i cant use them for show anymore. (they where washed on there own with a white shirt , shirt is still white )
i really think that "you get what you pay for".

I LOVE white jods and would wear them when competing all the time. I have a lovely Dublin pair that are not see through. I also got a pair in EDS which are not see through.
As for looking good in them - Bah I prefer to let my riding do the talking (if you believe that you'd believe anything)

I have a Shires Saddlehugger pair in white and really like them, i can't remember how much i paid for them though sorry. Possibly in or around €50, maybe €60. I purchased themon the same day as i bought new long boots and cannot for the life of me remember what i paid for them but for some reason i have the figure 60 springing to mind.

I have a pair of Shire Hipster Saddlehuggers in black and i prefer them to the white ones. Keep meaning to buy a hipster pair in white, but haven't gotten around to it yet...

I think I'm destinted never to wear white jods!! I tried on the Shires Saddlehuggers - which were only €37 in the Equine Warehouse in Clonmel - and was impressed with the quality and fit but looked horrendous on me!! You could see every lump in my legs and my underware!!

I think my huge bum and thighs are stretching them out & making the material thinner or something :(

I ordered another pair of the Dublin Supafit Cotton jods in Beige - the black ones I have fit really well and are smart looking too.

Tis a pity - I love the look of white jods :(

SN :thump: you do NOT have a huge bum and thighs what are you like!

Just get a size bigger in the white jods, thats what I do as they are never as flattering as the other colours are on.

I have a pair of Mountain Horse Fullseat breeches (as opposed to jods) and I love them!

I feel your pain,

I find some aren't great confindence boosters, as in I didnt realise my legs were that bad!!!

I loved Harry Hall, they look lovely, the only thing is they are too tight around my knees (chubby knees) but its the material thats flattering, apparently Lucinda Greene jods are of similiar material but there very pricey.

Friends have recommended Loveson, I've seen a few ladies with them on and they seem very flattering I think they are around 45.

And if you find a good pair please share.

Maybe breeches would be more suited to you SN? I am not implying anything btw! I know breeches are better for me, Dublin do lovely ones in cream and white as well that have a full seat. They are only 50ish too.

I love breeches as they actually fit my legs Must check out the dublin ones

Thankfully the shire saddlehuggers kids ones are same size as small adults but short legs so I dont have to tuck them up!
