Sorry if this is the wrong forum - but thought it would get more views here. A colleague is looking for a 14.2 pony for a confident child who is currently jumping at about 2'9". It is a first pony, but will be kept on livery at her riding school, so will have back up and instruction. Needs to have a bit of experience (been there done that) and super temperament - no bucking, napping etc. I suspect something no younger than 7 would be appropriate. Gender not an issue, nor is colour - but like all kids, I'm sure she would like it to be pretty/handsome :) Not lazy - lively but safe. Kid is 12 but tall and stocky in build - so something with decent bone (connie type maybe?)
If anyone knows of a pony like this for sale I will be happy to pass on the details to my colleague.

there are a few really good 14.2hhs up for loan at the moment, the kind that have a proven competition record, lots of sjai points and experience in the pony club, more than usual. my guess is that people who have these super 14.2hhs don't want to sell them at the moment because of the market so are putting them on loan or share untill things pick back up again??
will keep an eye out though...

Knew the perfect one about 2 months ago. Only selling as rider grew too tall and needed a horse, was a fab pony and not huge money!

I *might* sell my pony in a while but I'm not sure he would be entirely suitable.

No Colivet he is 11, been there done that little fella. I don't think a RS would be an ideal setting for him though.

No problem Karen - though he would be privately owned just on livery in a RS if that makes any difference.

Ok well if they are still looking in a couple of months they could try him out. I'm not sure I'll sell him yet, maybe loan him so a home will be vetted before he goes anywhere. Me......obsessive??? :sniggers:
I have an ex grade A 14'2 pony. Jumped in RDS as 6year old, and then went to england and competed in big shows there. She is 16 now, and has had 4 foals, 1 is at foot at the moment. It would be nice to give her a break from foals and see if she could have a few more years of fun in her?... She would have to go to a very good home though and a competent rider as she was quiet hot when she came back from England. Would sooner see her go on loan /trial though tho to be honest. Not sure it would suit?

Thanks J3 - it's a first pony for the girl, so I'd be inclined to think it might be a little much for her but I'll keep it in mind.

I know a 13.2hh 8/9 yr old pony who is bomb proof, he is coloured, He certainly doesn't buck, nap or bite and is more than happy to go the only thing is he can get strong if he is ridden strong he'll canter off a circle and pull up in the corner now mind you he is being ridden in a massive field so its his way of saying freedom.....
I've known him for two years if the child has enough sense for the first 15 minutes to sit quietly even if he is powering about he catches on and will ride quietly but mind you he is only ridden once a week but when he is ridden daily he becomes a push button and you can also leave him off for months and hop back up knowing he isn't going to misbehave.
He will be wanted for another month as a french student is coming over to ride ride him she had him last year and she was an advanced beginner at that stage and he went like a dream for her. I'd say the family would only loan him out first until they are comfortable and know he is in a good home.So if your interested let me know.

hey! my YO is selling one of her school ponies, 14.1h, connamara, lovely temperent, excellent on the ground, shoe, box, clip, absolute doll, has done a bit of everything, showjumping, xcross country - lovely jump on her! She can be a bit strong especially in the riding school with lots of different riders, which I think is pretty much the reason for the sale, but one teenager in the yard took her on for the summer and she settled down alot with one rider, she would come on leaps and bounds with one owner - she definitely is a one owner horse.
She is very pretty aswell which helps and I would say would make a fantastic show pony too!
I can PM my YO details to you if you think it would be of interest??

I have a 12 year old bay 14.2 mare. Done everything, pony club, hunter, cross country and is a grade C show jumper. My little brother rides her in pony club at the mo, but he is getting big on her so my mum may sell her. If your interested.
