There will be a competition announced later to win a 1000 ml bottle of POLY O-F, from COPA Ireland.
We are starting with a poll to find out how many people use dietary suppliments on a regular basis for their horses.

Do you want our replies (what supps we use etc) or do you just want the votes themselves?

What ever you want to put. Always interesting to know what supplements people use.

We use Carron Oil, seaweed and garlic on a regular basis. Usually use Visorbin once a year and occasionally Colivet for one horse whose white blood cell content is very variable. He has a blood test every 6 months.
We use a copper supplement from time to time.

I use Carron Oil regularly and I feed FenuGreek seeds occassionally... I also use TRM Ireland Electrolyte Gold before and after competing, hunting, XC schooling etc. - not sure if that counts as a supplement though...

Use Hilton Herbs GastriX for Jake's ulcers which I find fantastic. Equimins Hoofmender which again, I wouldn't be without. I have definitely noticed better, tighter growth in the horses feet. IronExcell when needed (sometimes Jake gets a bit anaemic, not totally sure why but I suspect it has something to do with his ulcer). Also use MagOx because the horses are barefoot.
Occasionally use a herbal immune booster - e.g. when I get a new horse in the yard.

Hi I use a lor of supplements, mostly herbal (am big into the herbs) and mostly bought from orchard equestrian (speedy delivery and lovely staff). My mare is 22 shes a bit hyper, prone to sweating a lot, getting excited and hard to keep weight on.
Shes on:
- fenugreek which has helped her appetite and increased her weight
- Cleavers, as she has an old injury prone to swelling
- Magnesuim, miracle product shes stopped twitching and is better hacking and travelling
- Super sound liquid, for those old joints
I also have a few of the yard horses on msm for the older ones and seaweed for any who are not shedding the winter coat well or have rubbed manes. One thats prone to a sore tummy is on fennel seeds which has been brilliant
The pony I am trying to get show prepped is on - super show coat, seaweed, vegetable oil and fenugreek

Probably a stupid question I know but do you use this to reduce swelling of the old injury????

Well Ispin has been on different calmers but coming off them now as we have found something more suitable. Electrolytes in the summer. A joint supplement after eventing that I can't remember the name of!
Diarmuid will be getting rice bran in the summer to keep weight on, Iron excell, and then I give him a Duphalytes drip twice a month in the summer. He also gets electrolytes. When he is busy eventing he is on another supplement I can't remember the name of!!

Mia is on Stride (glucosamine, msm and ....something else!) for her joints. Its a great product. Also local seaweed thats been dried. We do have a big almighty tub of TB calmer that we got towards the end of her stay in the livery yard but haven't needed to use it since we brought her home as the girl is now one chilled out cookie. expect yesterday. she was the devil child. sigh, but todays she's good again.

Well if the weather continues like this they sweat alot more and therefore lose salt etc, it help to maintain those levels....
P just gets a scoup in his feed or then a tube if he is competing ect;
He doesnt deal with the heat very well....

Benevit in winter when they are not getting any grass (Feedmark usually do a 50% free offer in autumn so a whole winter's supply costs about £60 I think) Hoofmender for those who need it, Equine Essentials (Tahitian Noni for horses) if anyone is poorly. And Mag Ox.

Yes as AB pointed out you can get them in tubs - J gets the GIANT tubs from the manufactorers so I just pay a few euro extra to get some thrown into P; saves me having to buy them....
