They could do with a spell check on the site!
I would like to see more than a mobile number for a tack seller as well.

Very interesting! great to be able to trawl through them online. some lovely stubbens on there. I have emailed them for info on their selling process.
What is classed as narrow / narrow-med? (my horses size) - is it a 28 - 29 or something?

Stubben size 28 is narrow/medium, 29 is medium
Find out where they are sourced from as well.

Definitely ;)
I would be very wary of that site knowing the real cost price of new Stubbens here.

That would be my worry as well Cal.

I've looked into them before they get stock in Germany on a regualr basis don't really act as fitters or anything though

Problem with that is that anyone who sells Stubbens in Ireland are meant to only get them from the Stubben rep here so that would make me wary of them - might not be stubbens at all!!!

I believe the main supplier (trade) of Stubben saddles is based near Ennis Co. Clare
They also supply another make of saddle called West Clare saddles (Under same listings in telephone book)
Anyone come across these?

If Stuben saddles etc come through one rep in Ireland then that's a monoply. I think its good competition if more than one person/company are selling a brand of tack. That has to be good for us consumers in the long run.
Stubben are such high quality, I think a copy would be easy to spot. The retail price in Germany could be a lot lower than what we are asked to pay in your normal tack shop here, we hear enough on the telly about grocery prices etc we pay here. I'd be happy to buy one off the DublinTack site, just waiting to see a 19 inch arrive (plus have to save up a few euros in the meantime).
Yes there is a monopoly here when it comes to equestrian goods and Distributors - they have licences to supply the entire country. As an example i must buy my GPA`s from Mackey`s even though i also buy from Matchmakers who supply GPA`s to but cannot sell them to ROI customers that’s just the same as I must buy my Stübben from Stübben Ireland.
And copys are much harder to spot than you may think - just a warning to anyone who make consider buying a Stübben from anyone other than a recognised tack shop.

Cal is correct re the copies - and on the surface they are not that easy to spot. As with many fakes they look good.
The retail price in Germany is not actually that much lower. My Stubben dressage saddle was bought in Germany - I saved a bit.
The licence to sell stands for many products. Most supplements will be the same. The variation in price is then up to the individual shop. You can find the approved worldwide suppliers here http://www2.stuebben.de/english/

i think ive bought from this person before- well we bought stubben saddles from someone in Finglas a couple of years ago who always has a saddles for sale im sure there cant be too many people in the Finglas area selling Stubben saddles for a living so it probably is the same person!!
Saddles were genuine stubben lovely quality second hand saddles- not sure where they came from though- our attitude was not to look a gift horse in the mouth because we got them for such good value- since then my yard has been cleared out and all my saddles taken- i know how awful it is so if i was buying secondhand again id want to know where the stuff came from!

I bought saddles from here a few times. They are perfect quality stubben saddles and other brands. They come from Germany I was there as an order of what seemed like 100s of saddles arrived. I got a receipt from mine and was able to exchange it when it didnt fit my horse, the people and very genuine and well known so defintly no problem with the source of the saddles.
I think everyone is missing the point they are secondhand saddles so no supplier licence is needed any one can sell a brand secondhand.
Would highly recommend ,great service, great product and great price if thats not what you want they probaly wont suit you.

I bought a black stubben split side bridle on ebay for like 90 euro. It is brand new and came with lovely webbed reins too!

Does anybody know if they will refund if the saddle is not suitable? I emailed a girl and she said she would if it was returned within 3-5 days but i'm just a bit anxious! Has anybody any experience with refunds from Dublintack?
