I know Berneys do it for their own saddles but not sure if they will stuff another make but you could try. I drove my friend to a fellow in Kildare a few months ago, I will try to get details for you. He was quite expensive I think.
Will PM you with the details if I can get them.

Berneys will do any make of saddle but it could take a while to get it back. Goodwins are very good too, and they will take all makes.

I got 2 different answers between Berneys and Goodwins about saddle stuff one said it was perfect . The other said it desperately needed to be restuffed .
So I wasn't sure about them .
also price wise does €300 seem a bit high ?
What do you normally pay ?

That seems very expensive. I am still waiting for friend to get back to me with details of the man in Kildare who did hers. He used to work for Berneys but not anymore.

Totally! considering a second hand saddle can be 450ish.. yes seems a high price. Maybe he got some of the saddle repaired also or customised?

Out of interest, who said it didn't need to be done and who said it did? €300 seems very expensive to me, I've to get 3 done in the next few weeks!!

I didn't know if I was allowed to mention names
Berneys said that the saddle didn't need to be restuffed
Goodwins said it did need to be stuffed

Heck if thats the going rate in Ireland we'll do ok liveing wise on just reflocking
(The actual name for re stuffing a saddle). We charge 45 Euro an hr plus call out and fuel and we reflock to fit both the horses back and the rider.
My Oh will be pleased if he can charge more.
Reflocking is actually a very easy job but you do need to be a qualified saddler to do so, even with a total re flock to fit the horses back done on site my OH take no more than at most 2hrs. Most saddles actually only need the flock repositioned and a small amount extra added to fill the gaps so that the saddle is rebalanced again to the horse.
Repairs however are a diffrent matter and we charge accordingly for those.
Hope thats some help.

yes you would enigma if that is the correct going rate .
Where are you based ?
I decided not to get it reflocked at the time as I felt they were more interested in getting a sale out of me than looking at the saddle .
Also what happens if you have a saddle that is not specificallt for one horse that you thinks needs to be reflocked eg you are using it on young horses ?
If you are not looking for one horse but several do you have to look at all the horses or none of them ?

i just got mine done in Goodwins 85 euro to reflock (it was a bit wet ) and 40 for some stitching repairs including 2 couriers, they collected from where I work and will drop back again tomorrow.

€300 seems very high. (you could buy a bridle for that, hmm)
I go to Berneys (its a Berneys saddle). The first time they did it for free there and then, the second time I had SE outside in the trailer and I think they charged €20 or €25 and did on the spot again. (I think it depends how busy they are).
I do like Berneys, but I have never had it done anywere else.

exactly TP .
The guy in the yard was taken when he was charged €300 esp I see now how much Goodwins charge for it .
One of the girls in the yard is looking to get her penwood saddles reflocked and had asked me to check what price is should be as the €300 price tag had frightened her .
