"Think Fly" - update

Has anyone tried this product?

Im not even sure if it the right one; I think they may have changed their packaging :asksquestion: Last year Pride was driven mad with the midges, sprays only work so much so I was thinking of trying another approach?

I have used it before on ones who are really bothered by flys - works great for midges round here.

Which version have you tried Cal - I think there are two?
Was it the Global Herbs one or the other one?

There is one that is actually called Think Fly - thats the one i use. There is a whole range of think products now - all of the ones i have tried have been really good. I never use global herb products.

Have never heard of it. Can you tell us more about it? Is it a something you put in there feed?

cannot remember where I read it bob but I did see a good review for that product somewhere

I use 'super bye fly' for cisco and it seemed good if you get it into them early enough.

I have the pony on it now too as she got awful bites on her back from some type of insect at our show. One of the kids got bit too it must have been the mild weather that had them out

Was looking for the thread a few days ago but couldn't find it to say to you a few people in my yard used this last summer and raved about it, also if you are looking for a spray you can't beat the ones with Deet in them - amazing!

P has been on this just over a month now and it really seems to working! Grazing him lately in the evenings he doesnt seem at all bothered with the midges - not so much as a tail swish!!

That's really interesting Bob. We have put our lot back on garlic for the summer and you can really smell it from their skin when you are grooming them. It's a bit pongy but hopefully the flies will think so too!

Bob - are the granules really smelly? I got a little sample pot of the global herbs one and the smell would knock you out! not to mention the flys!
Horse wouldnt go near it! Just wondering what it smells like ?

I certainly didnt find them overly strong at all, they smell herby.... but that all when mixed into the feed you can hardly smell them at all....

has anyone got experience of a horse with sweet itch on the 'think fly'? Did it make a difference?

I have to say i can really reccommend the "Think" range both in "calm" and "fly" really worked on my bothered tb..Its a little bit on the expensive end of things but does what it says on the tin so to speak..

ps. its "think fly" from horse and rider. I think they're the only supplier in dublin of that range so far. You can get it direct from the supplier in England for maybe £20 less.. food for thought if you were buying in bulk..
