Oh I had one of those lovely evening yesterday where I just fell in love with my pony all over again... We have both been through alot over the last few months with soreness, stiffness & physios messing around with us and if I'm honest, I had a worry in the back of my mind that he wouldnt come right & it might be the end of his days working or wouldnt want to work anymore (I'm ever the drama queen I suppose ) When tacking him up in his ...
Well despite my inital reservations about being able to jump in our yard show on Sunday, I'm delighted to say that we had a great day out! On Saturday, I rode, washed and plaited pony with his new purple hair extensions!! The helped out on the yard to clean up & get the course built! Was wrecked afterwards but the course looked deadly & was really looking forward to it now! Sunday, early enough start to finish plaiting & get in place for ...
Well after a really busy start to the year with training & getting picked for the RDS teams (we came 4th in the qualifer, not bad )... all good things have to come to an end! We both have been suffering a bit in the last few weeks with muscle soreness, Nuks in his shoulders & neck & me in my ankle. So we both got a visit from the osteopath/physio & are doing remedial work with lunging & stretches. Nuks is doing his stretches really well & ...

So after my last post, I found out on Monday that I'm on the team! We are putting forward two teams & I have to say, I love my team! I know the 3 other members of my team and they are all fantastic horse & rider combinations, hope I dont let the side down now The pressure will be on to go clear but I am really looking forward to the team experience, no matter what happens We are training again this Wednesday in Coilog & I'm gonna put out best hoof forward ...
So I put us forward for the RC Teams, it seems to have come up very fast at the qualifiers for our region are on the 9th May But it seems to be a consensous that it has caught everyone out, not just our club, as the Spring League was run very late just compared to last year - so its a very short break between the end of the league & the qualifiers. So as we have only just upgraded to Inter, I am not expecting to be picked out first time so we shall see. ...
So I had the brilliant physio E out today, just to check over Caz now we have a few quiet weeks. Since his few tumbles in the trailer and despite his brilliant performance in flowerhill, I found him to be leaning heavily on the left rein again and prefering to lead with the left leg in Canter even if we were cantering right. So she came out and immediately found he had a trapped nerve above his withers on the left side, bit of work on that and he had slightly tweaked the muscle in his back that ...
So I haven’t updated in a while but in fairness, I cannot complain about how things have been going! We have been jumping 90cm consistently & doing the Spring League at Inter & enjoying every minute of it. While I’m still sick with nerves, I feel more capable now if that makes sense – still good to have the nerves fuelling you from time to time! I still haven’t gotten our warmup routine perfected but have a better idea of what I should be doing. We have been doing a fair ...
Just realised I hadnt actually set myself any goals for this year. With the busy summer season fast approaching its time I got down to it. Sowe have a 3 week break before our next show, which will be our first time jumping RC AP since the physio. So I am hoping to get her to come check over Casper, even though he is in flying form and is a completely different horse from last year, the few tumbles in the box may just have done some damage so just to be n the safe side and ready for ...
As I write this I am fighting the desire to curl up and sleep for 100years. I had very little sleep last nite because I had to babysit till 4.30am (I had to ring the couple to get them to come home so I could go home and sleep) So I got to sleep on the couch at 5am with the alarm going off at 7am. Threw the last of my stuff into the van, tacked Caz up Loaded up Caz trotted into the box lol he knew he was going somewhere fun and despite all this we were still late leaving home at 8.30am. I decided ...
